"If I wasn't a clown I'd be a murderer." That quote from the movie says it all. It's a dark movie done artsy the way only a Spanish director can. We are treated to a happy clown in the Spanish Civil War; We are treated to his son, a sad clown; We are treated to clown on clown violence; And finally we are treated to a love triangle between two clowns and an acrobat.
