Reunion

It is time to get some sun and relax for a week. Today I embark on what is becoming an annual trip to Florida. This year it will be a distraction from everything that is going on in my everyday life, a chance to re-unite with an old friend and a mini family reunion with my brothers who I have not seen in possibly 10 years. While I am down there I'll probably see the new Harry Potter World and take in a few spring training games to see how my Braves are doing.

With the Illusionist behind me I now have a good grasp on most of the races for this years Oscars. I am looking forward to the show. Hopefully there will be a few surprises since this years awards thus far have been a bit predictable. A little controversy is always nice considering the Oscars tend to be a bit dry. They need to take a nod from the Grammy's and do something to bring this great tradition to the younger generation with out destroying the history behind it.

This week I will be shutting off my brain and watching a lot of movies that won't require much thought. After my run of foreign cinema I think I deserve it. I am on vacation remember. Before I go I must congratulate Black Swan for its well deserved wins at the Independent Spirit Awards. I am pleased to see the film is finally getting it's due. Sadly the Razzies will also get a quick mention from me. The Last Airbender rightfully got it's due, sorry M. Knight Shamalan, though I did think Clash of the Titans had a good chance in the 3D category. I hope they bring the category back next year until Hollywood realizes how to use the technology properly and not just as a way for films to gain extra revenue.
